      @spindleyq A BYOND episode would be really cool.

      Hey intro thread.

      I'm Rylie. I make games under the name Blueberry Soft.

      I like little communities, knowledge sharing, wikis, DIY-whatever, tools, my garden, my cat.

      If you're curious about me I have lots of websites and things you can probably find from this starting point: https://www.ryliejamesthomas.net/

      Oh wow, nice find!

      I missed the whole BBS thing, but have had a bit of a poke at them within the last year or so.

      Oh hey @trouv, I'm Blueberry (or something like that) on the ALT G's Discord. The illustrator for Braid was from some forums kinda tangential to this place :) Dunno what he's doing now, but their comic A Lesson is Learned was something I liked a lot back then.

      ... I wonder if there's a Fringe Boardgames History Podcast

      I guess kids' games often start in bedrooms?

      @spindleyq 'Fraid not!

      But I remember the first room looking something like this, but with nice VGA colours of course.

      Something else this show made me remember was I sometimes made install disks for games I never actually made. I'd make a label, a README.DOC and a little batch file to unzip an archive to somewhere :D

      Though-- er-- that actually would fit the 'kinda inspired by' criteria better than the game I'm trying to remember, I guess. This one just looks really similar.

      Definitely not ZZT! I'm sure I saved a screenshot of it somewhere...

      @kirkjerk Yeah, it feels similar scale wise (also what's the game Emotica is kinda inspired by...?). But without the kinda neat layer of emoji repurposing / association play.

      I think I only tried Bitsy last year maybe? It feels like ages ago, and looks like there's lots more now.

      Also I saw you released a tool for it today @candle ?
